Working solo can be lonely. š¶āš«ļø
Even with a dog or two loudly chewing a Nylabone by my side.
So having a 30 minute chat with other freelancers to set intentions for the day has been the community Iāve been missing since starting my own business.
So what is this magical community of freelancers, you ask? It's only the Freelance Friends!
With a strict timer and a prompt to get us chatting about something fun and shaking the sleep out of our eyes, Freelance Friends helps me actually think about the day ahead without feeling overwhelmed.
Do we always talk about work right away?
...No. š
Sometimes, we spend 15 minutes of our morning call wrangling our pets or debating if Parks and Rec or The Office is better for binging (I'm team P&R).
But that's what makes Freelance Friends calls so important.
It isnāt stilted.
It isnāt super strict.
Itās just human-to-human contact, daily intention setting, and celebrating wins with other freelancers who get what youāre going through.
What could be better?
P.S. If you're looking for a freelancer for your next project, there are some badass creatives in this group. You can check them out on the directory.
P.P.S. They also interviewed me, no big deal. Check out that article here!
